Tue 7 May: A busy day of meetings for the Diagonal team to kick-off the short week after the long bank holiday weekend. Morning planning sessions with our current clients Asetek and Patrick Heuzenroeder are followed by meetings with potential clients.
In the afternoon, a new Motor Sport column by Diagonal MD Matt Bishop is published. This one is different to anything The Bish has written before, as he celebrates the Atkinson Morley Hospital which treated Stirling Moss for career-ending injuries six decades ago and, earlier this year, in its modern incarnation, saved Matt’s life too. In his brilliant and heartfelt piece, Matt reflects on racing, living, and the gratitude that so many have for nurses. #ZECU.
Wed 8 May: Nearly 2,000 people gather at London’s Westminster Abbey to celebrate the life of Sir Stirling Moss. Arguably the greatest driver never to win the Formula 1 world championship, Moss died in April 2020 aged 90.
We brief, host, and manage media interviews with Asetek Founder and CEO, Andre Eriksen, today. A former racing driver himself, Andre’s story and passion for motorsport are remarkable, and you’ll be able to read more in those upcoming interviews about how his skill, knowledge, and experience goes into each of Asetek’s sim-racing products.
Thu 9 May: Morning media outreach is followed by refining a proposal for a potential new client. Diagonal offers a one-stop-shop, turn-key solution, including communications/PR, digital and social media, and influencer marketing.
A brand-new episode of Diagonal MD Matt Bishop’s podcast, ‘And Colossally That’s History’ is released. This week, Matt and his co-host Richard Williams focus on the Indy 500.
Fri 10 May: A meeting with a potential client is followed by a planning session with our current client EventR – the app designed by a team of software developers led by former Formula 1 team principal, Otmar Szafnauer, to simplify team travel.
The Diagonal team – including press officers and videographers – then makes its way to Brands Hatch for the second round of the 2024 season for our client the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). A sunny weekend at Brands is always a joy and we’re looking forward to some more great racing. You can catch all the action on ITV4 and every race live via ITV Sport’s TikTok channel. Sunday’s three races start at 11:50, 14:30, and 17:15.
